At its April 13 meeting the Conneaut City Council adopted multiple ordinances and took the following formal actions.
Adopted (roll-call summaries): - Ordinance 11-26: Adopted updated social-media policy into the City employee handbook (suspended readings; emergency declared). Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 12-26: Replaced sections governing poultry, fowl and farm animals. Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 25-26: Amended sewerage system charges (third reading; emergency declared). Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 27-26 and 28-26: Repealed incarceration in city jail and repealed police department fees for services. Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 36-26: Authorized participation in ODOT 2026 road-salt contracts (public works ordered 1,400 tons). Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 37-26: Authorized the City Manager to apply for a WSRLA water-supply loan and designate a repayment source. Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 38-26: Authorized payments to specified vendors per ORC 5705.41(D)(1). Vote: Yea — All. - Ordinance 39-26: Repealed Ordinance 30-26 and cancelled the Old Main Waterline bid award. Vote: 6–1 (Mr. Castrilla No). - Ordinances 40-26, 41-26, 42-26 and 43-26: Created dedicated funds for OEPA water and sewer projects (Funds 387–390). Votes: Yea — All. - Ordinance 46-26: Authorized the City Manager to execute an MOU with Conneaut Firefighters Association IAFF Local 651 and fill two full-time positions (suspended readings; emergency declared). Vote: Yea — All.
Tabled or referred: - Ordinance 44-26: Agreement with UH Conneaut Medical Center — tabled. - Ordinance 45-26: Traffic law enforcement devices — tabled and referred to the Public Safety Committee.
