Park County Tourism Board approves Guffey Visitor Center, adjusts budget and elects officers; rejects film proposal

Chairperson Bill Bruner called the Park County Tourism Board to order at 10:00 a.m. on Jan. 27, 2026. The board recorded five members present: Chairperson Bill Bruner, Vice Chair nominee Megan Pinson, Kim Mickelsen (via Zoom), Angie Mills (via Zoom) and Dana Peters (via Zoom).
The board approved the meeting agenda on a motion from Tourism Board member Megan Pinson, seconded by Angie Mills. The board then approved consent items, including the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting minutes, on a motion from Pinson seconded by Kim Mickelsen.
The board acted on several items under old business. It noted a Board of County Commissioners recap that included the resignation of Charles. The board voted to approve the Guffey Visitor Center proposal; the motion to approve was made by Megan Pinson, seconded by Angie Mills, and carried by unanimous vote. The board also approved an adjusted budget after a motion by Dana Peters seconded by Kim Mickelsen; that motion likewise passed unanimously.
Under new business the board completed officer elections. Tourism Board member Megan Pinson nominated Angie Mills for Secretary; the nomination was seconded by Dana Peters and approved unanimously. Kim Mickelsen nominated Megan Pinson for Vice Chair; Bill Bruner seconded that nomination and the board approved it. Kim Mickelsen nominated Bill Bruner for Chair; Dana Peters seconded and the board approved Bruner as Chair.
The board considered a film proposal from Todd Johnson and voted on a motion not to move forward with the proposal. The motion was seconded and the board approved the motion not to proceed.
Staff provided Park County updates, listing Andy Spencer and a review of advisory board policies presented by Lucas Meyer. Public comments were recorded and led by Amy Mitchell, Saam Golgoon and Janell Sciacca; the transcript lists their participation but does not record verbatim comments in the public record provided. Chairperson Bruner led director comments, and the board scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 24, 2026.
