The Village of Fruitport council on Feb. 16 voted to not pursue reimbursement from the Fruitport District Library for liability insurance payments the village already made, while reserving the right to seek reimbursement for future payments once the current insurance policy expires in June and a new policy begins.
Council member Carl Rothenberger moved the measure, and Bill Overkamp supported it. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Chris LeFaive, Bill Overkamp, Rothenberger and President Roger Vanderstelt voting yes and none voting no.
The minutes record that the council will seek reimbursement for future payments for the existing library building when the current policy expires in June and policy renewals are in place. The minutes do not specify the dollar amounts involved or whether a repayment schedule or billing mechanism will be established.
The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
