Council approves appointments, housing PILOT and a county-clerk lease in unanimous votes

Appointments approved by unanimous votes included Linda Osborne to the Greater Virginia Avenue Corridor Economic Improvement Board (Proposal 36, council vote 24-0), Courtney Yarborough to the Board of Business and Neighborhood Services (Proposal 69, 24-0), and Dora Doran Moreland as Chief Administrative Officer Policy Director for the council (Proposal 92, 24-0). The council also approved Shay Joyce as deputy mayor for government affairs and operations (Proposal 71, committee 9-0; council vote 24-0).
The council accepted introductions and referrals for multiple proposals; notable items included proposal 95 (707 North Apartments), a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes for a 40-unit affordable housing project at 707 East North Street referred to Metropolitan and Economic Development, and proposal 93 (the Grove At Pleasant Run), a PILOT for a 160-unit affordable housing project at 2852 East County Line Road that passed committee 12-0 and was approved by the council 24-0.
On facilities, Proposal 72 determined the need for the Marion County Clerks Office to lease approximately 36,377 square feet at 1330 South Madison Avenue; the committee recommendation passed 9-0 and the full council voted 24-0.
Several committee reports were accepted for the record with no further action required, including the sheriffs commissary fund report and the Woodrow Place Economic Improvement District annual report. Multiple rezoning items certified to the council (Proposals 110— 118) were allowed to pass into law after no member requested a public hearing.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn that included memorials for a number of named residents.
