On Meadowbrook Park, Tackett described final grading, backfilling, seeding and the addition of an extensive parking area that was part of the playground project’s finishing work. "We put in an extensive parking area," he said, and the park is “being heavily used.” Board members asked whether the parking-lot work was paid from the park budget; the administrator confirmed that it was.
At Grandview, Tackett said crews installed a new drain and catch basin that serves the Pro Shop wash-bay area and captures stormwater that runs from the east, north and west into the storm sewer. He said cleanup and backfilling are underway and the feature is already functional.
Tackett also reported that fire-extinguisher and hood-system certifications required by the fire marshal have been completed for the season, equipment servicing and repairs were finished in March, seasonal hires are joining staff in coming weeks, and de-winterization will open all park restrooms by April 15.
What’s next: staff will continue cleanup and beautification work and monitor usage at Meadowbrook and Grandview as seasonal activity increases.
