The committee considered two volunteer appointment proposals on April 15.
Proposal 74 nominated Councilor Brian Delaney to serve as the Democratic liaison to the Early Intervention Planning Council; Delaney said he will review the Marion County ordinance for alignment with state law and draw on prior experience as a deputy prosecutor. A motion to advance the appointment was moved and seconded and the chair announced the motion carried; a committee member stated they would abstain but the chair indicated the proposal passed.
Proposal 75 nominated Jasmine Tucker to the Citizens Police Complaint Board. Ms. Tucker said she works as a crisis navigator and regularly assists youth, families and community members in crisis and with navigating complaint processes. Council members praised her repeated attendance and experience; the committee moved and seconded the nomination and carried the motion to forward her appointment to the full council.
Both appointments will appear on the full City-County Council agenda for final confirmation.
