Vigo County commissioners approve April claims and payroll; OK contracts, animal-control amendment and hear $600,000 airport-area planning grant

Vigo County commissioners approved a series of routine financial and contracting items at their April 24 meeting and heard updates on infrastructure and public-safety initiatives. The board voted to approve an April claims docket totaling $1,043,888.05 and a payroll docket of $1,547,497.17 after the county auditor presented both items for approval.

County Engineer Robbins presented a zero-change-order contract amendment for the Clinton Road project that reallocates existing contract funds into a utility-design and construction-coordination line. Robbins said the amendment reallocates about $114,001 to support on-site utility coordination and that, because utility relocations drive the schedule, construction is not expected to begin until next spring. "This project left in April, and most of the work this year will be utility relocation," Robbins said.
