Police report large drug take‑back; fire chief highlights rescue as sewer lining phase completes

Fire Chief Bridal Musilai reported that the department has handled nine calls since the last meeting and "109 to date," including two structure fires where the department assisted in Cheektowaga and a successful swift‑water rescue. He welcomed returning member Scott Weneman and urged residents to check smoke and carbon‑monoxide detectors and batteries.
Police Chief James McNamara said a recent drug take‑back in partnership with Wegmans and the DEA collected 139 pounds — "six boxes" — of expired and unused medication. McNamara added that four new officers are nearly through training and will begin patrols soon and reminded residents to watch for motorcycles and bicycles in spring.
Joe Evans, representing engineering firm Nussbaum & Clark, told trustees Phase 8 of sewer lining is finished and that Phase 9 will be put out to bid shortly; he provided pre‑ and post‑construction photos to the clerk and noted a small number of resident restoration concerns on Irving Street.
Recreation Director Ferguson reported interior painting of locker rooms and continuing field‑condition challenges due to wet weather. Department staff said they are preparing for summer events.
