Clean Water service providers report progress on Basin 8 berm removal, Basin 7 funding rounds and Basin 5 dam project

Brian Voigt (CVRPC) said a berm removal project in Basin 8 is progressing, an RFQ for engineering or construction is open, and the open call for proposals closes Dec. 13. Dean Pierce (NRPC) reported Basin 7 held its last council meeting on Sept. 28; the deadline for a recent call for projects was Nov. 6 with no submissions this round, and the council will discuss budget adjustments at its Nov. 17 meeting. Pierce said Basin 7 is preparing policy language to handle future budget adjustments.
Dan Albrecht (CCRPC) reported that Basin 5 concluded its fourth round with one proposal for a horticultural farm dam removal construction project; University of Vermont (UVM) will cover most of the construction costs, and the Basin-wide Q Committee (BWQC) will consider floodplain restoration aspects at its Nov. 16 meeting. Albrecht also said NRPC’s private roads project is moving forward and another call for proposals will be issued within the next month or two.
These updates were provided for information; the minutes do not record that the committee took formal action on these items during the Nov. 7 meeting.
