Sumner County Legislative Committee approves reports, bond and recognitions; leaves data and VFD items for follow-up

The Sumner County Legislative Committee met March 6, 2025, and handled routine business alongside two items left for further review.
The committee voted unanimously to approve and forward the Judicial Commissioners 2024 Annual Report and to forward bond approval for the Finance Director to the full Commission. The committee also approved a resolution to restore the Sumner County Library Board membership to nine (one abstention by Commissioner Tim Jones).
Several recognitions—including Beech High School’s girls bowling team and Station Camp High School’s wrestling team—were grouped and forwarded to the full Commission.
Two items were left pending: the assessor’s request concerning Patriot/Catalis property data access (the committee asked IT to investigate data conversion and kept the matter on Old Business) and the Volunteer Fire Department contract/funding approach (the committee rejected the draft contract and forwarded a $90,000-per-station donation plan to the Budget Committee for appropriation). The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
