Brewster County approves purchases, budget amendments and a split payment plan with Alpine ISD

Brewster County Commissioners approved a package of fiscal and procurement items during their March 24, 2026 meeting, including equipment purchases, budget amendments and a payment plan with Alpine Independent School District.
The Court unanimously approved the minutes for March 10 and March 17, 2026. The Court also approved an updated Dell Finance contract to purchase 10 computers and authorized replacement of two five‑ton air‑conditioning units at the Red Patillo Center in Study Butte, with proposed funding from LATCF; both motions passed 5-0.
County Treasurer Julie Morton presented the February financial report, which the Court approved unanimously. Judge Greg Henington raised the issue of unpaid 2021 bills with Alpine ISD; Dr. Rhineheart, Superintendent of Alpine ISD, suggested splitting the payment into two installments across the current and next fiscal years. The Court approved the split payment plan (motion passed 5-0).
Comptroller Malynda Richardson presented general bills and invoices. The Court approved the bills and invoices with a specific hold placed on payment for Mesa and YouTube bills as recommended by the Comptroller (motion passed 5-0). Invoices without purchase orders were approved separately (5-0). Budget amendments presented by the Comptroller were approved with a unanimous vote.
The Court also authorized staff to begin the process of seeking bids for Brewster County depository accounts and approved payoff of the CAT Mulcher lease in the amount of $8,849.79. No dissenting votes were recorded on any of these fiscal items.
The Court adjourned at 10:56 a.m.; Judge Henington announced the next regular meeting for April 16, 2026, while the publicly posted agenda lists April 14, 2026.
