Wayne County selects Forvis Mazars for three-year audit engagement

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously April 14 to accept a three-year audit bid from Forvis Mazars. The board reviewed bids from the Office of Auditor of State and Forvis Mazars for audits covering fiscal years ending June 30, 2026, 2027 and 2028.
Forvis Mazars submitted the lower three-year proposal at $59,750 for the audit year ending June 30, 2026; $62,100 for the 2027 audit; and $64,400 for the 2028 audit. The Office of Auditor of State bid $62,700, $65,200 and $67,800 for the same years. Supervisor Lance Lange moved to accept Forvis Mazars’ bid; Todd Wilson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The selection will assign auditing responsibilities for the next three audit years to Forvis Mazars; the board did not state further contract details during the meeting.
