Kent County approves $57,517 change order for biosolids expansion project

Kent County Levy Court approved Change Order #4 for the biosolids capacity expansion project on April 14, authorizing a net contract increase of $57,517.04 with M2 Construction for additional storm drainage piping, grading, roof drain piping and site restoration.
Staff told the court the additions total $120,817.04 and that an exterior building material change (from brick and block to colored architectural block) produced a credit of $63,300, yielding the net change order amount of $57,517.04. Staff confirmed sufficient funds are available in the project budget.
Commissioner Hertz moved to approve the change order and Commissioner Pepper seconded; the roll call vote was seven ayes. The president was authorized to sign the change order documents.
The project remains under the county's biosolids capacity expansion program and staff will oversee the work with the contractor.
