Southeast Delco board approves agenda, minutes, and finance/personnel consent items; Delcroft showcases student programs

The Southeast Delco School District Board of Directors met March 26 and approved routine agenda and consent items after hearing school presentations and the superintendent's report.
The board amended the agenda to change the wording on a human-resources item to ratify Anne Marie Herwig as a long-term substitute social worker at Sharon Hill School with corrected effective dates of March 16, 2026, through June 16, 2026. The amendment was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board approved the minutes from the Feb. 26, 2026 regular board meeting and accepted the treasurer's report and bills, which were read into the record as $10,663,046.33 (a clerical mix-up briefly created confusion when the number was read aloud; the clarified figure was recorded and approved). "I make a motion to approve the treasurer's report," one board member said before the board voted aye to carry the motion.
Board members then ratified education items 1–10, finance items 1–11, human-resources items 1–18 (including the amended personnel ratification), and policy items 1–4. Each consent action was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
In presentations preceding the business votes, Delcroft School staff described their PBIS (positive behavioral interventions and supports) initiatives, incentives such as a school 'Delcroft dollar' store, adapted events for autistic-support students, community partnerships with the Fallcroft Library and Fallcroft Police Department, and a focus on attendance (staff reported over 95% attendance year-to-date). Lisonbee Barber, a Delcroft leader, emphasized small-group instruction and relationship-building as central supports for student learning.
Superintendent Dr. Sanchez also recognized teacher Britney Christman, who was honored by the Philadelphia Eagles as an "All Pro" teacher, and announced that the Ethan Joerner Memorial Foundation had awarded $27,000 in scholarships to be distributed to a graduating student meeting the stated criteria (2.7 GPA and community service requirement).
The board announced an earlier and a forthcoming executive session on a personnel matter and adjourned. The committee of the whole will meet Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m.; the next board business meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 23.
