The Natural Features Protection Board voted on March 24 to recommend Sarah Munchow for appointment to a full three-year term on the board.
Staff described an open seat created by the departure of Director Martin and said the nominating subcommittee had interviewed an applicant with an architecture background. Board members praised the candidate’s combination of building-development expertise and interest in native-plant landscaping; one member said the candidate would complement Director Hollander’s experience.
During the discussion the applicant stated an affiliation with a local firm by answering that they “work at Eckert Wardell right downtown.” A member said the applicant brings both a professional development perspective and a familiarity with sustainability and native-plant issues.
A motion recommending Sarah Munchow’s appointment to the City Commission for a full three-year term was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Staff said the City Commission will make the final appointment and that the recommendation may be bundled with other commission appointments on a future agenda.
