The City of Lacey adopted Ordinance 1698 on March 17 to carry forward unfinished 2025 appropriations into the 2026 budget, a reappropriation package Chelsea Knight, Deputy Finance Director, said totals about $34,200,000 across affected funds.
Knight told the council the staff report published earlier contained an outdated total and that a corrected document (available online and at the dais) reflects a $174,000 difference; she said the ordinance and Exhibit A in the packet contain the accurate line‑item details. Staff recommended adoption to allow completion of projects and priorities not finished in 2025.
A council member moved to adopt the ordinance, the motion was seconded and council adopted it unanimously with no further questions. Knight said staff had reviewed major highlights at a recent work session and would answer follow‑up questions as needed.
The vote: Ordinance 1698 adopted (motion moved by a council member, seconded; unanimous voice vote).
