Council approves amendment and change order to finish Well 16 generator installation

Director of Public Works Harkins told the council that the city is requesting a small contract amendment to complete construction administration and inspection for the Well 16 project and to authorize a pending change order so the contractor can purchase and install a diesel generator. "The additional $6,000 will bring the total to $93,070," Harkins said of the professional-services agreement with AVI Professional Corporation. He described a pending change order of roughly $205,526 to purchase and install the generator; Harkins said that amount would be paid by a Department of Homeland Security grant and that the generator pad, conduit and transfer switch were installed as part of the original contract.

Harkins said the city has been working with Wyoming Water Development Office and is waiting for grant paperwork from the state attorney general's office before issuing the change order. Council members asked about the generator model and maintenance; Harkins said the contractor intends to purchase a Cummins-brand unit consistent with other city generators, and that the purchase will be folded into current generator maintenance cycles.

Council approved Amendment No. 2 to the AVI professional-services agreement and then voted to approve Change Order No. 4 with Goshen County Construction; the clerk and director will execute the required documents once state grant paperwork is complete.
