Resignations, hiring and community events top Rosebud County public‑health agenda

Public‑health staff told the board that two employees have submitted resignations: George has turned in a resignation to the Board of Health and Kaye has turned in a resignation from public health for personal reasons. Staff said Kaye plans to remain in Forsyth to help through June or July to assist with onboarding a replacement.
Staff said they will meet with a candidate on Thursday to consider filling the nursing position and will advertise externally if that person is not hired. The board asked staff to include Jenny on the hiring panel.
The board reviewed upcoming community events and services: staff described a safety carnival set for May 29 (8 a.m. to noon) and requested volunteers; they also described plans to partner with the hospital on an Oct. 7 health fair and possible vaccine clinic. The board reported that Forsyth schools have had EpiPens available for about nine years and that Colstrip’s participation remains pending a principal’s sign‑off.
On emergency medical services, staff said the EMT class retention is strong — 14 of 16 remain on the roster — and that the county ambulance roster totals 22 drivers, EMTs and paramedics but will lose one paramedic soon. Staff encouraged recruitment for additional EMTs in some communities.
No formal actions were taken on staffing or events during the meeting; staff said they will report back after interviews and after meetings about clinic planning.
