The presiding chair acknowledged the concern and said the county was aware of the differences and intends to run a request-for-proposals (RFP) process during contract negotiations. Court members noted there is broad interest in the landfill and that contract terms can include rate protections for local residents.
Other commenters during the public-comment period noted high fees for mattress and box-spring disposal (approximately $26 each) and asked how to obtain the new construction-bid resolution and be added to county vendor lists; county staff provided contact guidance.
