Under the recommended plan Eisenhower would transition out as an elementary site; approximately 75% of Eisenhower students would be reassigned to Lincoln and roughly 25% to Washington. "The split that we have is at 75% to Lincoln, 25% to Washington," the presenter said.
Trustees asked detailed questions about grandfathering, busing logistics, Special Education placements and the location of specific programs — such as the life‑skills classroom and pre‑K — which administration said are factored into the plan (the life‑skills classroom is slated for Washington; pre‑K is slated to remain at Lincoln). Several trustees urged prioritizing rural Eisenhower families and rising fifth graders in grandfathering decisions.
Board member discussion focused on minimizing disruption for siblings and fifth‑grade students and on timing communications for families. The board moved and seconded a motion to approve Option 1 for the 2026–27 school year; the motion passed on a 6–1 voice vote.
Administration said it will communicate boundaries to families promptly, accept out‑of‑boundary requests under the district’s standard process, and provide parent timelines for transfers and kindergarten roundups.
