The study would evaluate program viability, potential costs and partnership needs; Dr. Vincent said the foundation would pay for travel and investigation during the exploratory phase.
Board members asked about participation levels, whether students would take part in years one and two, and the timing of any staffing commitments. Dr. Vincent clarified the two‑year phase is primarily research and planning: "This is a non binding, effort in the long run," he said, adding that student participation in the study years is not expected though some year‑three activity could follow the evaluation.
The board voted to authorize the superintendent to pursue a memorandum of understanding to participate in the two‑year exploration; the motion carried on a 7–0 voice vote.
Administration said it will provide additional details about liaison duties and future resource implications if the study recommends moving to implementation.
