County approves DLZ contract for roundabout, various consent items; Esri renewal tabled

At its March 17 meeting the Saint Joseph County Board of Commissioners approved multiple consent and procurement items, including a construction engineering services agreement with DLZ for roundabout improvements at Douglas Road and Bittersweet (contract number 2100024), an AV-technology quote with River Systems for courtroom upgrades, and a nurse-practitioner agreement with Beacon Health Systems to serve the juvenile justice center.
County controller Kristen Symansky requested and the board authorized the county to apply for the 2027 Family Recovery Court grant, a non-matching award the probate court has received annually since 2019. Andrea Halpin, staff attorney for probate court, said the nurse-practitioner arrangement formalizes a provider whose services have been in place for three years, funded from the LIT fund.
The board moved to table approval of the Esri software license renewal to a later meeting. Each item on the consent agenda was approved by motion and recorded ayes where noted.
