Summary
Fair manager Harley Richardson proposed using TicketSpice for online ticketing (flat $0.99 per ticket), announced the first Bradford County Farmers Market on May 9 with 20 vendors signed up, and reported outreach to other fairs and maintenance work at the grounds.
Harley Richardson, Bradford County’s fair manager, briefed the board on operations and programs and recommended exploring an online ticketing platform to modernize sales.
Richardson said she met a TicketSpice representative and shared a sample mock-up. She told the board TicketSpice charges a flat $0.99 per ticket (with a $0.49 rate for tickets under $5) and offers optional messaging services for an additional $0.25 per ticket, hardware rental for scanners and the ability to sell presale tickets online. "They charge 99¢ per ticket," Richardson said. She added that processing costs are comparable to Square and that the board has time to evaluate competitors.
Richardson also announced the first Bradford County Farmers Market scheduled for May 9, planned for every second Saturday during the summer; 20 vendors are already signed up and a food truck has been arranged. She reported recent maintenance work, coordination with the fire marshal on safety items, and a benchmarking visit to the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds to learn operating procedures and event calendars.
Board members asked for vendor references and for links to vendor examples; Richardson said she would email links and speak to other fairs and competitors before bringing a purchase or contract decision to the board.
The board did not take a contract vote; members asked staff to gather competitive options and additional cost details before any procurement.
