Board swears in new members and elects officers

The West Allis-West Milwaukee School Board sworn in three newly elected members, re-elected President Burns and selected Amy Diehl as vice president, Jane Carr as treasurer and John Verbose as clerk.
President Burns called the April 27 meeting of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School Board to order and led the board in routine opening business before swearing in newly elected trustees.
Mayor Devine administered the oath of office to the newly elected members, which the board recorded as including Noah Lee, Brian Keller and Sagar Talani. The board thanked outgoing member Kristen Kaiser for her service.
After roll call, Dr. Robinson facilitated nominations for board officers. A nomination for Burns for board president received a second and, after a tally/show of support, Burns was confirmed as president. Amy Diehl was nominated and elected vice president by voice vote; Jane Carr was nominated and elected treasurer; and John Verbose was nominated, seconded and approved as clerk.
The newly constituted board moved on to the regular agenda. The officer elections were conducted by nomination, closed by motion when no further candidates were offered, and decided by either voice vote or show-of-hands as permitted by board procedure.
The boards next regular meeting was announced for May 11, 2026, with additional calendar and committee assignments to be distributed by the president by email.
