The board voted to authorize staff to begin that planning and outreach; the motion carried by voice vote.
On a separate item, the board approved a field trip request for a student to travel to San Diego for a national manufacturing/welding competition. A trustee moved to approve the request and the board voted in favor.
The board also approved a staff recommendation to release students on a half-day schedule on May 20 and May 21 (elementary release about 1:00 p.m.) so staff can attend graduation activities and to provide consistent timing for families. A trustee moved and the motion passed by voice vote.
All three items were presented as motions and approved during the special meeting; no contested roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript (votes were taken by voice as “Aye”).
