The amendment increases the superintendent's base annual salary by 5% effective in the short term and establishes that, beginning July 1, 2026, the superintendent will annually receive an amount equal to 6% of base salary for deposit into a tax-sheltered annuity of her choosing. The amendment also permits the superintendent to be compensated for up to 10 additional work days in excess of the designated annual work year when duties are required, clarifies travel and expense reimbursement consistent with board policy and adds a 90-calendar-day continuation period following the seating of newly elected or appointed board members.
Board members expressed unanimous support for the amendment and framed it as a correction of earlier negotiated compensation levels. The superintendent accepted the terms and the board approved the amendment by roll-call vote; the chair and finance lead completed an on-camera signature exchange for the public record.
