Batavia trustees elect officers, approve minutes, appoint CJFED reps and clear routine business

At their Jan. 5 meeting, the Batavia Township Board of Trustees completed routine reorganizational and administrative business.
Randy Perry moved and Danielle Wessel seconded the nomination to elect Rex A. Parsons as chair for 2026; the motion carried unanimously. Parsons then nominated Randy Perry as vice-chair; that nomination also passed unanimously.
The trustees approved the Jan. 5 agenda and multiple sets of minutes (three sets recorded with Danielle Wessel abstaining on some minutes votes) and approved the December 2025 financials. The board appointed Randy Perry and Danielle Wessel to serve on the Central Joint Fire & EMS District (CJFED) board for 2026.
The board adopted Resolution 01-03-2026 to transfer $2,000 retroactive to Dec. 31, 2025 from Legal Counsel Salaries Fund #1000-110-312 to Administrator Salary Fund #1000-110-131. Trustees approved a liquor-license transfer for DT and Motel, Inc. (Benjys Drive-thru) at 2640 Old State Route 32 and authorized payment to Morton Salt of $5,968.12 for winter salt deliveries.
Trustees also agreed to change the Aug. 4, 2026 meeting to Aug. 11, 2026 and asked staff to research website updates and livestreaming options for future meetings.
