Batavia trustees initiate zoning text amendment to consider Coordinated Development District

The Batavia Township Board of Trustees voted Jan. 5 to initiate a zoning text amendment process to consider creating a Coordinated Development District.
Randy Perry moved adoption of Resolution 01-02-2026, which directs township staff to prepare draft amendment language and forward it to the Zoning Commission for consideration at its Feb. 12, 2026 meeting. Danielle Wessel seconded the motion; the vote was unanimous.
The resolution starts the administrative process; trustees did not adopt final ordinance language at the meeting and asked staff to return draft language to the commission and trustees for review.
