Rochester Hills council recognizes Stony Creek girls varsity cheer team as state champions

Mayor Barnett introduced the team and coaches, noting the program’s third straight state title and praising the athletes’ work ethic and community support. Coach Tricia Williams told the council she was honored and highlighted the team’s academic success and athletic resilience, saying the squad earned a collective team GPA of 3.75 and included several individual all‑Americans. Members of the team and coaching staff came forward to be recognized and posed for a council photo.
The proclamation was signed by all council members and the mayor; council applause accompanied the presentation. The recognition drew celebratory remarks from the mayor and the council and was followed by routine business.
