Contractor: North Lake Star Center foundation work underway; schedule tentative

Lee Lewis Construction gave the Town Council a detailed progress update on the North Lake Star Center on March 13, saying crews are moving from foundation drilling into paving and underground utilities.
“Construction update was at the end of the day on Monday…We average roughly 48 men per day,” said Ricky Donovan, project superintendent for Lee Lewis Construction. Donovan told the council the contractor has completed roughly 100 of about 300 drilled piers and had poured about 1,780 yards of concrete for deep foundation piers; moisture conditioning of soils and pier cap work are underway.
Donovan described an off‑site sanitary sewer run that is temporarily delayed by an elevation conflict with a gas line and said the team is working to resolve that issue. He also noted groundwater requires casing in some pier locations before concrete is placed.
On schedule, Donovan said the current working schedule listed a substantial completion target of June 2026, but he and staff said they are working to accelerate some elements and earlier calendar entries referenced March as an internal goal; the presenters acknowledged the dates are tentative and weather claim days have been significant. “So this is a drone shot…The site’s like 18 acres overall. We’ve got activity all over the place,” Donovan said.
Councilors thanked the contractor for the update and noted the town and project marketers are coordinating outreach so the community is ready when the facility opens.
Next steps: staff and the contractor will continue subsurface work, start concrete paving on the west side and install site lighting conduits; council received the briefing for information and no formal vote was required.
