Milwaukee — The City Plan Commission on March 9 approved a set of routine land‑use actions, including official‑map amendments and a certified survey map, and adopted a resolution amending the commission’s bylaws to match recent zoning‑code public‑notice rules.
Chair Allison Nemec opened the meeting and led a roll call before the commission heard presentations from planning and public‑works staff. Desselin Bachella of Central Drafting and Records described the official‑map updates as a mostly administrative, annual cleanup involving small vacations, quitclaim deeds and minor right‑of‑way clarifications near Washington Park and a downtown market area. “Most of these vacations are requested by an adjacent property owner,” Bachella said, describing the routine process staff follows to process requests.
Johnny (John Latsko) of the Department of City Development presented a certified survey map (file 250,724) that divides a large L‑shaped residential parcel on the city’s south side into two lots and corrects title and right‑of‑way descriptions. Latsko noted a minor typographical error in the draft resolution referencing 121st versus 122nd Street and said staff would correct the reference as the item moves forward. “This certified survey map dedicates right‑of‑way within the boundaries of the land to clean up the title,” Latsko said.
On the bylaws amendment (item 251,717), city planning staff explained the resolution updates an internal statute citation and, substantively, aligns CPC’s public‑notice procedure with zoning code changes adopted last year. The change increases the radius for mailed notice of zoning map amendments from 200 to 250 feet to match ZND and BOZA practice and directs readers to Section 295‑307‑3(d) of the Milwaukee zoning code for noticing rules.
Each of the items was approved by voice or roll‑call vote without extended discussion. Commissioners present recorded votes in favor for the minutes and for items 251,808 (official‑map amendments), 250,724 (CSM), and 251,717 (bylaw amendment).
The commission concluded by taking up a year‑in‑review presentation and adjourning the meeting.
