Deborah Moore, who introduced herself as an events outreach coordinator, told the committee Bronzeville Week is a weeklong, family‑friendly celebration designed to highlight the cultural heritage and artistic talent of the Bronzeville neighborhood. She said Bronzeville Week will kick off Saturday, Aug. 1, with the Harambee 5K walk/run and continue with a festival day that previously attracted more than 130 vendors.
Moore described programming that includes live entertainment and children’s activities and said the organizers are distributing a schedule and materials to the council. The committee welcomed the presentation and, after a brief discussion and a motion recorded by the chair, moved for adoption of the resolution designating Bronzeville Week 2026.
The resolution was ordered by voice after the committee raised no objections. The committee encouraged city members to support the events and noted continued coordination with organizers on scheduling and publicity.
