The Proctor Public Schools Board approved routine financial items, multiple policy updates and personnel resolutions during its April 27 meeting.
The board approved payment of bills dated April 13, 2026, in the amount of $98,804.77 covering checks 126485 through 126577 and ACH transfers, and payment of bills dated April 20, 2026, in the amount of $337,220.74 covering checks 126578 through 126639. Business manager Garrett Helkren presented year‑to‑date expenditure reports and noted a current year-to-date deficit of about $276,000 while reminding trustees the district posted a large surplus the previous year.
Trustees approved a motion to authorize Education Minnesota Proctor to continue allocating 1% of staff development funds for use in the general fund for the 2026–27 academic year. The board also voted to adopt a set of district policy updates required because of minor or legislative changes (policies listed in the packet include but are not limited to policies 2‑11, 3‑01 through 3‑05, 3‑04, 3‑05, 4‑05, 4‑06, 4‑10, 4‑18, 4‑20, 4‑21, 5‑20, 6‑04, 6‑13, 6‑16, 6‑19, 6‑20 and 7‑13). Trustees also approved first readings of additional suggested policy changes and scheduled second readings for a future meeting.
On resolutions, the board conducted roll‑call votes and unanimously approved resolutions non‑renewing three probationary teachers: Colton Duksevich, Kelly Dougstead and Elise Herberg. The clerk recorded roll‑call responses and the chair announced unanimous approval for each resolution.
No contentious debate was recorded on these items; most votes were taken by voice, with roll calls used for personnel resolutions. The meeting proceeded to other business after the approvals.
