Vice Chairman Bill Winters provided the Fire Committee report at the March 10 Bradley County work session, saying six participants are currently enrolled in rookie school. Winters said paving and site preparation at the Minnis Road site are set to begin this spring and that the committee has submitted a budget request for upgrades to the department’s mobile radios. He praised the fire department’s work, particularly given current dry conditions.
Winters also encouraged residents to take advantage of the Candies Creek Greenway. No formal votes or budget approvals occurred at the work session; the items described are committee-level updates and budget requests that would follow normal appropriation procedures.
