The Palisades Park Board of Education learned April 22 that the county approved the district's tentative 2026-27 budget, and the superintendent said the board will hold a special meeting on April 29 to present additional detail and ask the board to vote on the budget.
Superintendent Mr. Abando told the board that the county's approval was received earlier the same day, and that the next step is a follow-up presentation and an opportunity for questions at the special meeting. "So the last step in the process is the budget will come back to the board, a week from tonight," he said, adding that the board will then act to approve, alter or not approve the recommended 2026-27 budget.
The superintendent also said parents and staff will have additional opportunities to review details during the special presentation; administration indicated calendar and staff-date details will be posted to the district website and distributed to staff the following morning.
No final adoption vote was taken on April 22; the board approved holding the special meeting where the budget will be presented and then voted on.
