Council approves consent agenda, hears staff hires and UDC outreach update
Summary
The council approved the consent agenda 5–0, welcomed several new city staff members, heard a public comment from an applicant for Parks & Rec, and the City Manager previewed additional outreach for the UDC rewrite before adjourning.
The Liberty Hill City Council opened its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m., established a quorum, and approved the consent agenda by a 5–0 voice vote.
Deputy City Manager Brandon introduced four recent hires: Robin Miga as the city’s new planning and development services director; Brian Piper as parks maintenance foreman; Ricardo Flores as municipal electrician; and Jeff Burris as pump and motor technician. The mayor welcomed the new employees to Liberty Hill.
During public comment Christy Miller (512 Wunderstruck, Clearwater Ranch) introduced herself as an applicant for the Parks & Rec Advisory Board and said she looks forward to serving the city.
The City Manager provided an update on the Unified Development Code (UDC) rewrite, noting the city has a project webpage and that additional community and stakeholder outreach will occur in the coming months.
Following a closed executive session covering Project Starbright and pending litigation items, the council returned to open session, approved an agreement related to Project Starbright conditioned on attorney finalization and City Manager approval, and adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
