Bob Green, a candidate in the Democratic primary for Shelby County clerk, addressed the Bartlett Board during public comment on April 28 to outline campaign priorities and encourage voting in the upcoming primary.
Introducing himself as a candidate, Green said there are two days of early voting remaining and that the general election is May 5. He said his three key campaign priorities are to begin a full forensic audit "on day 1," upgrade county clerk technology (he said systems are running Windows 7), and expand service locations so citizens would not need to take vacation time to renew tags. Green framed the changes as achievable without new taxes, saying funds have already been allocated but not spent.
Green also discussed plans for increased training and accountability for county clerk employees and said he would consult Nashville to review systems and technology. He closed by urging voters to participate in the primary.
The board did not respond to Green’s remarks during the meeting.
