The Valparaiso City Board of Works voted to award contracts for two sidewalk construction packages on motions from the chair.
Engineering staff reported that bids for the 2026 annual sidewalk program were opened and reviewed. For package 1, the lowest responsible bidder was Davis Concrete at $332,363; the board approved awarding the contract and executing it. For package 2 engineering said five bids were complete and recommended the lowest responsible bidder, New Tech, at $596,284.95, compared with an internal estimate of $617,000; the board approved that award and authorized contract execution.
Chair moved the recommendations and a board member seconded; both motions carried unanimously.
Board members and staff said the awards align with the department’s procurement review. No amendments or objections were recorded during the votes. The contracts will proceed to execution by the Clerk-Treasurer's Office as authorized by the board.
