Board approves Title I-funded consultant workshop and moves into closed session on personnel

At the April 29 meeting, the North Brunswick Township Board of Education unanimously approved a curriculum-and-instruction motion that included hiring educational consultant Michael Kim Marshall to provide a full-day workshop on teacher supervision, coaching and evaluation on April 29, 2026. The contract amount was limited to $1,600 and funded through Title I.
Vice President James moved the motion; the motion was seconded. During roll call the board recorded affirmative votes from all members present (Mister Carter; Miss Cepeda; Miss James; Doctor Patel; Mister Singh; Miss Toth; Mister Wen), and the motion was approved.
Later in the meeting the board approved a resolution to enter closed session under the Open Public Meetings Act to discuss personnel matters; the resolution stated that details would be made public when nondisclosure is no longer required.
No additional funding amounts or consultant contract documents were presented during the public portion beyond the $1,600 cap and the Title I funding designation. The board indicated the public hearing on the 2026–27 budget is scheduled for its May 6 meeting.
