Seymour recognizes longtime employee Nida Hans ahead of retirement

Seymour — The Seymour City Council and city staff on Thursday honored Nida Hans, who will retire after roughly 20 years of service to the city.
City Administrator Dr. Brazier told the council he would like to “recognize an extraordinary person” and said Hans has served the community for two decades, praising her leadership, work ethic and institutional knowledge. “She is such an amazing person and amazing employee, and she is gonna be greatly, greatly missed,” Dr. Brazier said.
The presiding official also addressed Hans directly, commenting on her professionalism and communication skills: “When I think about you, I think about your professionalism … I have seen those qualities in you.” The council invited Hans to a retirement reception scheduled the next day from 2 to 4 p.m. at City Hall. The city administrator noted Hans received a 20-year service award the prior Friday.
No formal personnel actions were taken during the meeting; the remarks were a ceremonial recognition and staff asked citizens to visit City Hall during the reception to express appreciation.
