Regional Clean Water Service Provider planning advances; CCRPC prequalifies firms ahead of subgrants

Dean Pierce reported that Basin 7’s Water Quality Council met Sept. 22 and will next meet Dec. 1; the basin council is still organizing its approach to subgrants and may survey potential partners to gauge demand. Pierce said Basin 7 had issued an RFQ for project subgrantee partners with responses due Oct. 24.
CCRPC staff reported for Basin 5 that the commission has prequalified eight water‑quality engineering firms and 11 organizations (including land conservation and water‑quality organizations, NRCDs and municipalities) as potential subgrantees. Dan Albrecht said CCRPC expects to reissue its RFQ if more organizations want to be certified and that it is roughly a month or two away from issuing any call for proposals. For Basin 8 CCRPC reported by email that CVRPC signed its Formula Grant and that its executive director will leave; Christian Meyer will serve as acting director until a replacement is identified.
No formal committee actions were taken; the updates were informational and intended to ensure committee members and potential project partners are aware of RFQ timelines and prequalification status.
