Symbos said her team worked with Miss Donna and Jeff Cook at AMCO to revise the original scope. She told the board the vendorinitially provided a price of $204,266 that included tables and wall painting, then, after removing most painting details and adjusting materials, the revised estimate fell to $85,990. "This got us down to $85,990," Symbos said.
Symbos described a mix of longer tables against walls, oval tables in the middle and movable chairs designated for students who require accessibility accommodations. She said the changes aim to clear pathways, reduce collisions, shorten lines and give students more time to eat.
Board members asked technical questions about the furniture. One member asked whether the tables fold when pushed against the wall; Symbos confirmed they do and that chairs for students with mobility needs can be moved to any table.
Coach Campbell introduced the guest and framed the project as student-led. The presentation concluded with no formal action taken on the lunchroom design; the board moved on to other agenda items.
The presentation referenced AMCO and vendor contact Jeff Cook for pricing; the board did not vote on approving construction or funding during this meeting and requested follow-up information as needed.
