Principals from Corbin schools presented results from the Kentucky Working Conditions IMPACT survey at the board’s Feb. 19 meeting, highlighting strengths in staff–leader relationships while flagging emotional well‑being and behavior management as areas for continued attention.
Tonya Proffitt, reporting for CPS, said the school recorded a 94% favorable rating for school climate and identified student behavior management (81% favorable) as an area where staff would like additional support. Liberty Roberts, principal at Corbin Elementary School (CES), reported a 90% favorable rating for staff–leader relationships and noted emotional and staff well‑being at 80% as an area for growth. Evan Robinson (CMS) described staff‑leadership relationships as a district strength, reporting 98% favorable in that measure while identifying feedback and coaching (88% favorable) as a growth area. Shannon Dixon (CHS) reported an 81% favorable rating for staff–leadership relations and noted school climate at 66% as the most pressing area for improvement at her site.
Deputy Superintendent Cynthia Davis and Chief Academic Officer Sarah Watkins reviewed district aggregate IMPACT data and emphasized high rankings in managing student behavior and school leadership overall while acknowledging school‑level variation. The board received the presentations and recognized CES for its 'Redhound Report' video, in which Principal Liberty Roberts highlighted programs and singled out cross‑country runners Reece Caddell and Raylen Mack for making All‑State honors.
The board did not take action on IMPACT data during the meeting; the presentations were informational and intended to inform future staff supports and professional development planning.
