Commissioners approve pipeline-crossing acknowledgments and road adjustments for bond projects

County staff presented several road-bond related items Thursday and the Commissioners Court approved the package (items 39–42).
Ross, a county staff member who presented the items, said item 39 is an acknowledgment and agreement to allow an encroachment across a pipeline tied to the road bond project and that the agreement spells out remedies if an incident occurs. He said the document has been submitted to the district attorney’s office for review. "This is essentially just acknowledgment of passing that of crossing that," Ross said, describing the agreement.
On item 41, staff described a request to shorten Mitchell Moore Road by roughly one mile where the road is surrounded by a single property owner; the county expects reduced maintenance and liability and said the property owner could gate the portion, while future platting would allow required dedications if development occurs. A related change (item 42) cleans up the county’s engineering services agreement by updating the vendor name from Gannett Fleming to GFI.
After discussion, the court carried items 39–42. Staff noted these steps are administrative and would not immediately change right-of-way dedication requirements if future development requires new road dedications.
The items were presented as part of the county’s road bond implementation work; staff said they have sent agreements to bond counsel and the district attorney for review.
