San Patricio commissioners approve consent agenda, IT, airport and road purchases

The court also approved an interlocal agreement for animal-control services with the City of San Patricio as presented by Gabriel Arroyo, Director of Environmental Health.
On infrastructure and equipment purchases, the court approved a $14,008.67 expenditure to connect fiber to the Justice Center; the county engineer explained the connection work is similar to owner-provided utility tie-ins and that the county will use the same contractor that handled countywide fiber where appropriate. The court approved a sheriff’s office purchase of a 2026 Ford Transit van for $64,150 and a road/bridge purchase of a Roscoe RB Tech 50 broom/sweeper (2025 model) for $75,274.05. Commissioners also approved a negotiated pipeline easement across Sinton Airport after Christopher Dorsey summarized pricing and damages provisions.
A personnel action transferring Jimmy Fikes from juvenile supervision officer/detention full time to part-time temporary status with revised pay and a $50 monthly phone allowance, effective March 1, 2026, was approved. The court adjourned after completing the agenda.
