He identified himself to the court and said social media reactions to commissioners' involvement had been "phenomenal."
"I want to give a shout out this morning to Commissioner Levorski, Commissioner Gonzales and Commissioner Gillespie and the judge," Casey said, recounting that he had received calls from officials in neighboring Randall County offering support. He told the court the citizens appreciated the commissioners standing up on the issue.
The comment was delivered during the citizens-will-be-heard portion of the meeting; no agenda action or vote followed directly from the public comment period.
