Commissioners approve $25 million TWDB grant for regional stormwater detention facility

She also briefed the court on two other state grant applications: a body-worn camera program for the sheriff’s office (25 units with a 25% local match) and a General Victims Assistance Grant to help fund a victims-assistant coordinator in the district attorney’s office. A separate Bridal-Resistant Body Armor grant for 15 vests (no local match) was also presented.
The court approved items 40–42 as presented. Brooke summarized the stormwater item and explained public meetings and design work that will follow the grant award; she emphasized that the action on the court’s agenda was to authorize the resolution and execution of the grant agreement rather than to commit additional unbudgeted county funds beyond required matches.
The vote carried on the consent for the grouped grant items; staff said more detailed contractual steps and a formal grant-execution process will follow if the TWDB approves the award.
