At its regular session, the San Patricio County Commissioners Court approved a series of contracts, purchases and routine items affecting county infrastructure and operations.
Major awards and approvals included:
- A contract with Caldwell Tanks Inc. for the Saint Paul elevated storage tank (RFP 2025 TAX020) for a total of $1,282,000, funded with $855,000 from a TDA Colonial Fund line (CFC 24Tax0101) and $427,000 in ARPA funds. Grants manager Melanie Cooper presented the request and the court approved the contract by voice vote.
- A contract with CF McDonough Electric for generators for Saint Paul totaling $310,469, to be paid from ARPA funds; the court approved the purchase after a brief presentation that described the equipment as part of the TDA Colonial work for Saint Paul.
- Approval of an agreement between the District Clerk’s Office and Cofile Technologies Inc. for book preservation, archival imaging and indexing services for $20,587.62 to be paid from the District Clerk’s Records Archive Preservation Fund for 2026.
- Routine procurement approvals including renewal of a uniform contract for Precinct 1; purchase of a 15-foot Viper batwing shredder for $27,500 from Diamond B Tractor & Equipment; and authorization to buy two document scanners for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 at a total not to exceed $2,068.84 from the Court Technology Fund.
- The court accepted and recorded an interlocal inmate housing agreement with Victoria County and recorded a tax-abatement compliance letter and audit letter for Gulf Coast Growth Ventures for FY2025 from CCREDC.
Several items were discussed briefly but did not result in action: the court reviewed an order authorizing issuance of general obligation refunding bonds (approx. $5.53 million) and unanimously moved to take no action at this time after a presentation noting that projected savings had fallen below expectations.
All listed motions were moved and approved by roll or voice vote as reflected in the meeting record.
