Chairperson Blowers read and the board approved Resolution 14R-2026, lowering the speed limit on Road 433 between Highway 92 and Highway 2 from 55 mph to 35 mph. The minutes record the motion and a roll-call vote of Ayes—all.
The board approved an application from Custer Public Power District to directionally drill an underground powerline under Road 430 in Section 23, T14N R22W to provide electrical service. The motion to approve the permit noted the directional drilling method and carried by unanimous vote.
Regarding county property and telecom infrastructure, the board authorized making a $10,000 offer to purchase the Ansley tower contingent on Ansley Village signing an agreement and directed County Attorney Steven Bowers to prepare a sales contract and easement. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with all ayes.
On routine business, the board approved March fee reports and multiple fund claims across General, Road, Communications, Veterans Aid and E911 funds. In public comment, Mark Kimball urged the board to keep the county recycling center open, noting that taxes support services such as recycling. Chairperson Blowers requested a closed session at 10:51 a.m. for contract negotiation; the board returned to open session at 11:10 a.m. with no decisions reported from closed session. The meeting adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
