New Lenox approves site plan, waivers for Tierling Lakes 55+ amenity center

The Village Board of New Lenox on a roll-call vote approved the final site plan, building-code waivers and a limited easement vacation for a 10,500-square-foot amenity center for the 55-and-older portion of the Tierling Lakes development.
Planning staff said the building will include indoor pickleball courts, gathering space and a bocce court outside, and that the annexation agreement allows relief from the village's masonry requirement for this commercial-style building. The approval also included vacating 5 feet of an easement where a covered porch would encroach and establishing a replacement 5-foot easement to preserve required width.
Rob Goetz, vice president of land for Pulte Homes, told the board the project has had a strong sales start: "to date, we have 26 contracts already," and he thanked the board for its continued support. Staff told trustees that outstanding staff comments on the plat had been resolved and that site-plan and building permits are expected to follow.
Trustees moved and seconded the motion to approve the site plan; the board recorded the motion and carried it on a roll-call vote.
The approval clears the way for continued construction and for the developer to move forward with the amenity center and future subdivision of the larger business park area referenced by staff. No additional conditions beyond the waivers and easement adjustments were recorded in the meeting's motion.
The board proceeded next to other business, including a public-works planning contract and committee reports.
